This Is The Worst Week Imaginable For Anyone Who Doesn't Play Video Games

The release of EA Sports' College Football 25 is a major moment in pop culture. There's not a single person in America right now who doesn't know at least one person who is fired up about this game coming back. The group chats are fired up. You've got friends using up their sick days at work to stay home to play. Everybody talking about what program they are taking to the promised land.

And yet here you are on the outside looking in. Why is that? Because you haven't even purchased a new gaming system since the Xbox 360. You can't even wrap your mind around the concept of not having to own a physical copy of a game in order to play it, let alone actually playing the damn thing. I mean, sure, you loved playing NCAA Football just as much as the next guy when you were a kid. But that's the thing--you loved playing the game. Past tense. You don't play them anymore, and now you are stuck in an impossible predicament.

Do you just accept the fact that you're missing out on all the fun? Or do you bite the bullet and buy a new gaming system for the first time in a decade so that you can play, only to ultimately get your shit rocked in the game constantly because you are 10 years behind everyone? You're screwed either way.

Don't get me wrong--I'm happy for everybody who gets to enjoy the game. Nothing fires me up more than seeing the boys fired up about something. It's just that I wish everyone could think about us washed up 30+ year olds who haven't even held a controller since the Obama administration right now. You guys can have all the fun you want, but maybe just don't boast about it so much.

Moral of the story here is that EA Sports needs to know that there's an entire demographic out there of guys who played the game growing up, but have no idea how to play video games anymore. If they could just set up a special server for all of us to play against each other, that would be great. That way we can all suck together, instead of having to play online and get waxed 76-0 in the first half.
