The Actual Testimony From Brady's Hearing Last Wednesday Is Surreal

So the full transcript from last Wednesday’s Brady appeal is now out. I know we’ve already beaten this to death, but to read it in black and white is still fairly shocking. I mean the entire case the NFL is making is that it literally doesn’t matter what Judge Berman thinks. It doesn’t matter whether Roger Goodell was fair or not. It doesn’t matter whether there was any evidence against Brady. It doesn’t matter whether Brady is innocent or not. All that matters is that Roger Goodell is God and can say and do whatever he wants because he is God.

I know I keep using this analogy but the way Goodell is abusing his power is literally the reasons wars starts. Like when Hitler made himself dictator in Germany he gave himself absolute power. He could justify every decision he made based on the fact that the law said could do whatever he wants. That is exactly what Goodell is doing. The NFL is arguing he doesn’t have to be fair or just. If Goodell wanted to ban Brady from the NFL for life with no cause he could do it just because the CBA gave him the power to do whatever he wants. I mean the NFL has basically admitted they have no case, but it doesn’t matter. Let’s just hope this type of exchange doesn’t hold out in America or else what’s the point of even living here and fighting for democracy.

Judge: Why didn’t you let Mr. Pash testify?
NFL: Because he wasn’t important to the case.
Judge: Wasn’t there a press release saying that he was the co-investigator?
NFL: That press release doesn’t matter and was incorrect.
Judge: But didn’t the NFL write the press release?
NFL: Roger Goodell said the press release doesn’t matter and that Mr. Pash doesn’t have to testify and that’s really all that matters.
Judge: That doesn’t seem fair
NFL: It doesn’t matter what you think it’s fair or not. Even though we are the ones who started this lawsuit and brough Tom Brady to court you don’t have the right to make a decision because Roger Goodell is more powerful than you and that’s all that matters.
