We're Just A Couple Hours In And Pinehurst Is Delivering The Carnage That Was Promised, Now We Need More Of It

Hell yes. This is what was promised this week at Pinehurst and this is what I want to see. I'm not anti-go low by any means. I just want a mix on the tour. I don't want every major to be -16 or something like that. I want to see guys hit shots that quite frankly I'm used to seeing. A bunker shot that rolls 10 yards off the green? Yep, that's in my wheelhouse. 

Sungjae hitting a perfect shot but somehow rolling into the bunker? That's what we need more of this week. I don't want to hear complaints from these guys. Rarely do we get carnage on the course and Pinehurst/US Open should be just that. It's why I'm glad the USGA added these anchor sites for the US Open, but I'd even go further and make it a smaller rotation. I disagree with Dan that it's the best major, but it's the second best. Nothing will top the Masters. 

It's early but only 15 guys at the time of me writing this are under par. Let's cut that in half. I want to see these guys get lost. I want to see weird shots, praying for a ball to stop, putts that make no sense. Basically right now guys are taking advantage of 5. We're seeing eagles there. But for the most part every other hole is a grind for par. I hope we go into Sunday with the leaders at like -1. The course is off to the best start (along with Brooks, Aberg and Tony). They promised carnage, we're getting carnage. Now make it harder.
