Congrats to Journalist Julia Westerman, Who's Playing Her First Ever Round of Golf at Augusta National Today
Congratulations to Julia Westerman, who gets to play a round at Augusta National today as one of the winners of this year's media lottery at The Masters. That's a dream for anyone who loves and plays golf, as I'm sure Julia must.
Oh, come on.
I'm not even a huge golf guy, but I'd be willing to have one pinky — finger or toe — amputated to play a round at ANGC and Julia gets to play it for her first ever round of golf. If you're going to play one round in your life, though, I guess this is the way to do it.
You can't ever play golf again if you find yourself in this situation, however. Hang it up after today, make a display case with your score card and one of the dozens of balls you're sure to use and have the greatest story ever. You can't ruin that by playing one round every few years at shitty public courses. This is it.
I very much hope Julia keeps legitimate score and posts it later today because I'm thoroughly fascinated at what it will be. She is living out one of the world's greatest hypotheticals.
