Fox, Disney, and Warner Bros Have Teamed Up To Kill Cable Once And For All With New Sports Streaming Service

The service will be released under a totally new brand name that will show football, basketball, baseball and hockey at national and college level.

It will make sports available from a variety of sources available in one centralized app and is set to shake up the world of sports broadcasting.

Subscribers would get access to sports networks including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SECN, ACCN, ESPNEWS, ABC, Fox, FS1, FS2, BTN, TNT, TBS, truTV and ESPN+.

Sports it that will be broadcast include golf, tennis, cycling, soccer, UFC, as well as Formula 1 and NASCAR.

The move could have massive impacts on the TV marketplace. Sports are often cited as a reason people keep cable packages, but if they bundle into a streaming service, consumers could look to ditch their expensive, traditional cable boxes.

That's it. That's all she wrote. Even for a guy like me who has been soaking up ABSURD cable prices for years basically for two reasons only...live sports and the remote. I fucking love that voice remote and ondemand and all the rest. It's the still the best possible TV experience. This is a gamechanger though. I already pay for every fucking streaming service known to man in addition to comcast. I never wanted to be left without the ability to watch sports and I DETEST having to switch platforms to change the channel to find a different game. From the sound of it...now I won't have to. I will still have to push one to two more buttons to get to the game I want, but that's not enough of a reason to pay like $278/month to comcast. It's over for cable. Sad day, bad day for cable and the comcast remote. Give me this platform and the ability to split my 55" TV into four quadrants to watch multiple games and I won't even need the remote anymore.
