PLEASE GOD NO: 90-Year-Old Baseball/Life Legend Bob Uecker Is Currently Trending Online
NOOOOOOOO!!! Not our beloved Harry Doyle. We're not ready for this one. Alas, Father Time comes for us all and it looks like the bell has finally tolled for one of the greatest characters baseball and/or life has ever seen. Wait…the elderly Bob Uecker is trending across these series of tubes not because of what we're all thinking…but for something else? Something actually joyous??? OK!!!
Thank GOD. Happy Birthday Bobby U! You're not dead! That's certainly a relief. Something Uecker himself would most likely find hilarious. Annnndddd apparently it happens basically every year for Bobby on his birthday. The man is so unanimously lovable he trends for no other reason than being born. Love to love it.
Amazing. Bob Uecker is probably most well known across the land as the legendary announcer Harry Doyle from the classic Major League, but did you know he's also been the real voice of the Milwaukee Brewers since 1971? 50+ years as the main announcer for the Brew Crew. Incredible. Did you also know he also played in The Show and batted .200 for his career, yet he still someway, somehow hit a homerun off of Sandy Koufax? Being a well below average player and still making it to the show AND going yam off of one of the most dominant pitchers ever is certainly something. And that something is Bob Uecker. An absolute beautiful talent not only for baseball but for humanity.
At the bottom there's a 40+ minute doc on Uecker that sums everything up, but here are a few clips involving the legend that are all hilarious. Multiple clips involving the late great Norm Macdonald which makes them even more lovely. Long live Bobby U.
