Jim Harbaugh Says Michigan Should Be 'America's Team' For All The Adversity It's Gone Through (Suffering Consequences For Cheating)

They're fully leaning into the bit, huh? Jim Harbaugh, back from the dead, says America should hop on the Michigan bandwagon because the Wolverines have faced undue adversity this season. I really wish someone had the balls to ask Harbaugh a follow-up of what that adversity is, exactly. Suffering consequences for flagrantly cheating over the course of several years?

And the question after that should have been, "Why should kids root for Michigan, given the current status of the program?" Make Ol' Jimmy come up with an answer for that one.

I'd respect Michigan so much more if Harbaugh and the rest of the team came out and said, "Yeah, we cheated and the consequences so far haven't been that bad. I'll be back for the Big Ten Championship Game and the College Football Playoff and we're going to win the national title."

You are not the victim. If you're going to lean into anything, go full heel. Every program in America would sign up for the punishment Michigan has received to this point — there will certainly be more, but they very well may win a national championship before that — to go 35-3 over three seasons and have multiple chances at winning it all. Just be honest.

Instead, I guess we'll just have to deal with a couple more sobbing interviews and quotes from Harbaugh about everything the Wolverines have been subjected to.
