OSCAR WATCH: The Legend Of Zelda Is Finally Being Made Into A Movie
IGN - Nintendo is finally making a live-action Legend of Zelda movie, after years of hopes and months of rumors. The news was shared today in an official post to Nintendo investors, with few details. The film is being produced by Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto and Avi Arad, chairman of Arad Productions and former founder and CEO of Marvel Studios.
Hey, Hollywood, the entire known universe is aware you're a bunch of unoriginal hacks who would reboot your own dead mother for a buck...yet somehow The Legend Of Zelda franchise hasn't been made into a production by the year of our lord 2023? Unacceptable. The fact they haven’t made a series/movie about it yet is a crime against humanity. The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time alone is one of the greatest video games ever with a storyline that is perfect for a movie. The action is there, the plot is perfect, the characters are great. It deserves to be done and done well.
The only thing I’m concerned about is it not living up to expectations. There are so many memories that I couldn’t put at risk of being tainted. I legit had a better relationship with Epona (the horse) than I did with my own family. Playing the Ocarina was an actual musical feat that was magically harmonious. Finally defeating Shadow Link in the Water Temple is legitimately top 5 moments of my childhood. One of the best battles in video game history. So many cherished moments. Also, the Water Temple can go straight to fucking hell. There were wayyyyy too many walls punched and controllers thrown because of that maze of watered down dick.
The time is now. No excuses. Link like a champion. The fans have already done the work for Nintendo. Look at this Zelda Live Action Short from a decade ago - "Link's Shadow". Just make this into an hour 45 and consider the job done and done.
PS - FYI: Zelda is the Princess. Link is the hero. Shocking many don't know the truth.
