Stephen Vogt Was Shoveling Horse Poop When He Decided To Accept The Guardians Job Offer And Move To Cleveland
Holy shit, is this the plot of Major League 4 or what? Stephen Vogt was literally shoveling horse shit when he got the call with a job offer from the Guardians. Just like Lou Brown had a guy on the other line about some whitewalls when offered the Indians job in the first movie.
Now, before I get any further, I must say this: thank God he said yes. It's a funny story that the man was shoveling horse poop takes your MLB job, but could you imagine if the man shoveling horse poop turned down your MLB manager job…..? That has Cleveland written all over it.
But he took the job and now we've got a gritty, hardworking guy leading the boys. Come on Cleveland, do it with me: "ONE OF US! ONE OF US! ONE OF US!". And not just because of the type of character he has, but also because, you know, Cleveland has always loved horse poop….
Anyways, I will admit I was a little apprehensive when I saw we were going with a first-time manager this morning when the Stephen Vogt hire was announced, but the more I read about him, the more I love him. Won the Talent Show every year when he was with the Rays. Wowed the front office with his engaging personality and quick wits during the interview process. And is literally everyone's favorite teammate. I already love this guy, and it sound like the clubhouse will as well.
Plus, shoveling horse manure? What beautiful symbolism that we're not putting up with any more horse shit from the bottom of our lineup.
**Speaking of Lou Brown, since we all hate the owner, can Vogt reenact this part too?
