Lining Up For A Team Photo After Finally Capturing An Escaped Murderer Who Was On The Run For Two Weeks Is Objectively Hilarious
I mean what's the point of finally capturing this guy if you're not going to be able to get a quick post off on Instagram about it? Sure, Danelo Cavalcante may have been running circles around Pennsylvania State Police for the past 2 weeks. Sure, he was able to acquire a van and a shot gun and an Eagles sweatshirt all while evading the cops for 14 straight days. You had regular ass citizens on scooters joining the search. Dog The Bounty Hunter was able to tap in to finally bring this thing to an end. It's not like the Pennsylvania State Troopers are ever going to be remembered as a dynasty for this search.
But that's not going to stop at least 20 of them of posting this exact same photo on Instagram later today.
I don't care who you are or what you think--that was funny. Everybody has to figure out their pose, everybody has to look around and ask "are we smiling or doing serious faces?", you have to figure out if the front row is going with a knee down or just sort of bending over. There are always so many major decisions that need to be made in such a short amount of time before a team photo is taken. Meanwhile in the middle of it all, you've got this guy just ready to get the rest of his life in prison started.
Sidenote: Actually a genius move here from Cavalcante to pick up an Eagles sweatshirt. Around this time of the year, that's as good as any camouflage in the Philadelphia area.
It may not have been the greatest performance out of the police over the past 2 weeks. This guy continued to elude them day after day after day without really even going anywhere far. But at the end of the day, it's all about getting those likes on Instagram. Every time these guys open up the app, they are going to get a few new notifications. You can't put a price on that sort of dopamine rush. If the price is that it's not the greatest optics to celebrate this capture like winning the division, well then that's just a small price to pay for all those likes start pouring in.
Sidenote #2: There are definitely some people out there who are friends with the majority of these guys on Instagram, and their timeline is going to be spammed with this photo for the next couple of weeks. Like when you're friends with a group of friends who all just got back from a golf trip. Pray for them. Scrolling is going to be hell.
Go Birds.
