The Mariners And Braves Are Looking To Bounce Back, And Justin Verlander Is Hoping To Shut Down The White Sox

Yesterday was another mixed bag. The Giants concluded their game with the Red and won 4-2, so we cashed in on our run line bet. I made a serious mistake betting on the Blue Jays. I don't know why I keep vibing with that team. They always let me down. Manoah clearly has not found himself. The Rangers stayed hot and cashed in on my run line bet against the Rays, who continue to trend downward. I also bet the Mariners to beat the Twins, and they got their shit kicked in. Last night was a wild night in baseball. A ton of overs hit with ease. Should I jump on that trend? Let's find out with today's picks. Again, we're going with our gut. It's worked out the last few days.

Mariners -1.5 (+140) against the Twins

I'm doubling up here despite losing last night's bet. The Twins exploded with a huge game offensively last night. I think it may be tempting to go with an offense that might be heating up, but last night was only the second time since May 14th that Minnesota scored double digits runs. Kenta Maeda is going for the Twins. His stuff is still good, but his ERA is not. It still seems like he's struggling to find himself after coming back from a major injury. Luis Castillo is going for the Mariners. He's been lights out at T-Mobile Park since the Mariners acquired him. Minnesota has played some good ball out of the break, but I think they drop a series tonight against the M's.

Austin Riley to record an RBI, and the Braves to beat the Diamondbacks (+175)

A little mini parlay action. How about that? The Braves have dropped three games in a row, which I didn't even think was possible, considering how they'd been going for a while. Last night, they lost one of the wildest games of the season, dropping a 16-13 ballgame to Arizona. You know they'll come out pissed, and they have the right guy on the mound. Charlie Morton is always good for six strong innings. Offensively, Austin Riley had one of the best games of his life last night, recording seven RBI and homering twice. Every member of the Atlanta Braves offense has gotten red hot at some point this year. I feel like its Riley's turn. He's a wonderful player, but his offensive production has been down just a bit compared to the last two seasons. Last night may have been the start of a hot streak for him.

Mets -1.5 (-105) against the White Sox

I'm putting my faith in the Mets. What's the worst that could happen? Maybe I'm just fanboying here, but I still think Justin Verlander is the dude. I know he's had his issues this year (I think the pitch clock has impacted him somewhat), but I've seen him get hot in the second half many times in his career. Last night was a wild one in Queens. The Mets held on for an 11-10 win after nearly blowing a massive lead. This feels like one of those vintage Verlander starts where he gives his team seven strong innings to save their bullpen. He also has a ton of experience pitching against the White Sox and has good numbers against them in his career. Touki Toussaint is going for Chicago. His career ERA is well above 5. I know Verlander hasn't been vintage Verlander this season, but I'm still surprised the value is as good as it is here.
