The Flyers And Blues Are Desperately Trying To Make A Trade Happen, But Torey Krug Flat Out Refuses To Waive His No-Trade Clause To Come To Philly

Danny Briere has been working the phones like an absolute mad man over the past few days. As he's preparing for his first draft as the GM of the Flyers, he knows he needs to blow the whole damn thing up. Unless your name is Cutter Gauthier, your ass is on the chopping block this week and Danny B is looking to do everything he can to pack your shit and leave. One of the trades he's trying to make happen right now would involve Kevin Hayes and a few other players going to the Blues. There's just one small thing holding it all up right now…

Nobody in history has ever wanted to do anything less than Torey Krug wants to be a Flyer.

I mean, listen. I don't blame the guy one bit. The Flyers are going to be a total shit show for the next few years while they completely rebuild this dog shit franchise. Hopefully the rebuild gets a little extra juice with Matvei Michkov at the 7th overall pick. But regardless, we still have a few years of painful misery upon us. So if I were Torey Krug and I had a No-Trade Clause in my contract for this very reason? I wouldn't waive that shit either.

It's still a hilarious situation, though. You don't see a ton of multi-player trades in the NHL anymore. Here we have one just waiting for the final T's to be crossed and I's to be dotted, and Torey Krug is just saying "nah, fuck that". And I'll be perfectly honest--I doubt this will be the last time this offseason we see a player refuse to waive their NTC to come to the Flyers. Again, I just don't see any reason why someone would willingly be a part of a multi year rebuild if they had the ability to just say no.

And while all that is going on, Briere is also trying to trade Tony DeAngelo back to Carolina. This dude is on demon mode at the moment. It's about damn time someone in that building actually put in some work.
