'It's Like Fairytale Stuff' - Jalen Brunson Talking About The Playoffs Will Help Any Knicks Fan Trying To Forget The Last 30 Years
Before anyone jumps the gun, two quick things. One - I'm not saying we'll forget the last 30 years of suck. We're Knicks fans. It's what we know. I'm about to be 36 years old and there's been like 4 good seasons of Knicks basketball in my life. Seasons where I thought we could see a title. Seasons where I thought we had a chance to actually be decent. Most of those seasons were before I even turned like 13. So not great!
Second and arguably more important. The job isn't done.
We're not celebrating anything except individual wins. Clem had it correct when talking about Knicks fans filling the streets of 7th Ave:
But having Josh Hart and Jalen Brunson out there together is the good juju we always needed. How can you not love Josh Hart as a Knicks fan? It's impossible. Look at this man:
Don't Stop Believin sucks, but the point still stands. I love that he wants to go play 48 minutes. This is the Josh Hart that was at Nova and the Josh Hart that I want to be a Knick forever. Come off the bench? No problem, he's fine with it. Go start with Grimes hurt? Sure thing boss. He'll go play 48 if you need him to, bum ankle and all. He just makes all the smart plays, does everything well and is a winner. That's a guy I want. Plus he makes Jalen Brunson happy and Jalen Brunson makes all of us happy.
Like I said, this doesn't forgive the suck of the last 3 decades. But it's starting to ease some of the pain. The fact the Knicks have talent. The fact these Knicks are incredibly easy to cheer for. I'm taking the small wins where we can. Now end this fucking series please. Let me see a second round series.
