Today I Learned Back In 1994 Mike Piazza Saved A Woman From Drowning

What an unbelievable clip. Talk about a time capsule.

Serious question. Wasn't life just better when you could turn on the TV and find Baywatch on a random channel in the middle of the afternoon? 

There's a reason its one of the highest-grossing, most-viewed shows of all time. And syndicated in over 120 countries around the world. 

And it's because of the stuff in that clip above. 

Mike Piazza, just casually hanging out on the beach one day, working on his swing (in jersey and hat but ignore that part), like every major leaguer does,

 when he's approached by one of the hottest women on the planet, CJ Parker (played by Pam Anderson of course).

Naturally, she asks Mike what the fuck he's doing, when all hell breaks lose a few feet away. 

One of the nastiest riptides ever witnessed before, nearly takes a very capable young woman's life, had it not been for the cat like reflexes and quick thinking of CJ and Mike.

 You might be thinking to yourself, "man, I've seen better acting in porn movies". But you're wrong.

Like all good stories, this one ends with the hero getting the girl, who actually happens to deserve an academy award for her job in getting an athlete to stuff her.
