"When My Wife Doesn't Show Up To Games, Usually Something Good Happens" - Brewers Rookie Garrett Mitchell Following His Walk Off Bomb Against The Mets
My ears finally have stopped ringing following the aftermath of today's Mets-Brewers game. There we were just watching some baseball with a bonanza of day games to entertain our eyes. Yankees W already in the bag, could we get the New York sweep? Well, it wasn't meant to be. And with that the Mets season had ended according to the Tank.
What we didn't know heading into this one was that the Brewers good luck charm was in play. That would be Milwaukee rookie and former first round pick Garrett Mitchell not having his wife Haley Cruse Mitchell in attendance.
Those are fighting words folks.
If you're unaware of Haley she was a social media star during her time playing for Oregon softball. We're talking 850k followers on the Tok. You could possibly say she walked so Livvy Dunne could run.
Nice to see her now husband Garrett having some success early on here with the Brew Crew. Maybe, just maybe he gives them the offensive jolt they've needed for years now. Just need Haley to stay home for now on and things apparently happen. Sorry, rules are rules. Thoughts and prayers to Garrett when he walks in the house later.
