Stop Me If You Have Heard This One Before: Anthony Davis Is Out Indefinitely With An Injury

It's really hard to blame big guys for being injured in the NBA. Their knees, feet, and ankles take an absolute beating from the giant body sitting on top of them and from the other giant bodies banging into them constantly during games. But just because it's hard to blame them doesn't mean we can't blame the people who recruited or signed them. And that is exactly what I am doing to LeBron and the Lakers right now as Anthony Davis is out indefinitely with a stress injury in his foot.

Davis, who had already missed four of the last eight games for the Lakers and is averaging just 46 games per year during his tenure in tinseltown, is going to be out (once again) for the foreseeable future. I'd say the guy is glass but Ive seen beer bottles dropped at the bar with more structural integrity than Davis.

What really sucks is the dude was playing like a top five player in the NBA and MVP candidate before he went down. Minus the game in Cleveland where he left because of illness and the the game against Denver where he injured the foot, he had been averaging 34 pts, 15 reb, 3 assts, and 3 blocks per game over his last 13 contests. More importantly the Lakers were 8-5 in those games.

LeBron now finds himself with a cast of has-beens, rejects, and second rate NBA players for the umpteenth time in his NBA career. I didn't think it was possible for someone to have a worse talent:talent evaluation ratio than Michael Jordan but LeBron might already be the goat in that department. It's almost like he has a kink for playing with old guys who can't shoot jumpers.

The Lakers are 13-15 and now must make a decision on this season. Sure, they are only 2.5 games out of the play-in tournament in a conference that the 1 seed and 10 seed are separated by just 3 wins. But do they really believe that trading away their last two picks (pretty much their only assets left at this point) will get them anywhere near the tier of legitimate contenders? In a season where LeBron's points, FG%, and 3pt% are all down considerably?

That's harder to believe than Jeanie Buss getting engaged to Jay Mohr. By the way, I've seen a lot of hate for Mohr the last couple days on the bird app and I won't stand for it. Morphing into Jim Belushi?! Fuck that, he's morphing into every man's dream.

Mohr is what we should all aspire to be. The dude has had a successful 25-year run in stand-up comedy, radio, and movies. And now he's 52 years old, tired, and just wants to be taken care of by a sugar mama. It's time Jay gets to spend a little cash and enjoy the fruits of Jeanie's fathers labor. I won't judge him for that one bit. If that means he has to watch Russel Westbrook and Kendrick Nunn set the game of basketball back 15 years offensively on a nightly basis then so be it. Feels like a small price to pay to never have to participate in another movie like Hunter's Moon.
