Drunk Immigrants Berate Bartenders At East Village Wine Bar For Not Playing Taylor Swift, Bar Responds With Message On The Sidewalk Outside Their Door

 

“We do not play Taylor Swift here you cunts. Grazie.”

Gothamist – According to an email sent out by the owners to their neighbors on Monday, a group of “15 drunk people” berated bartenders because they wouldn’t play any Swift songs—and then when the bartenders did play two of her songs, they weren’t happy with the selections. One bartender was allegedly told to “go back to your country with that fucking immigrant face.” The group was asked to leave, at which point they allegedly stiffed Ballaró on a $500 bill. Later, a simple message in chalk was discovered on the sidewalk outside: “We do not play Taylor Swift here you cunts. Grazie.” A commenter on EV Grieve says they witnessed the altercation: “I was actually there [Sunday] night and a big group of drunk people were abusing the bartenders and yelling at them to play Taylor swift.. They actually did play 2 Taylor songs to try and please them. Then they started booing because she didn’t play the right one.”

Well there’s a very easy and quick way to let your customers know what type of bar you are. Sure, you can do it with the decor or the name. You take a look at a place with a fancy name and some dim lighting and you can guess what you’re in for. A big bright sign and a corny pun for a name, you know the type of bar you’re about to walk into. But Ballaro here is making it very clear – if you want to listen to T Swift and jam along to “Bad Blood,” you are in the wrong fucking place. You very plainly can see as you’re walking into the bar THEY DO NOT PLAY TAYLOR SWIFT CUNTS. THANK YOU.
