I Can't Get Enough Of Montreal Canadiens Player Arber Xhekaj, Who Has The Nickname "Wi-Fi" And Was Working At Costco Last Year Before Getting A Call From The Habs
On today's Pardon My Take… PAUL BISSONNETTE AND RYAN WHITNEY! The Spittin' Chiclets duo joined Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter in-studio for today's show for a 2022-23 NHL Season Preview. Multiple topics were addressed, including a discussion regarding some future stars in the league. The one that was primarily discussed was a player by the name of Arber Xhekaj. Yes, that is actually how his name is spelled.
Mr. Cat had me guess how Xehkaj's name was pronounced without looking it up, and to that I guessed, "Heh-kaage." It turns out, I couldn't be more wrong, as Whitney correctly said it was pronounced, "Jak-igh."
Anyways, the Sparknotes version of this rising star who plays with the Canadiens is that he is super, super tough. He's been involved in multiple fights on the ice, and his story to get to the NHL is something else.
As Whitney said on today's podcast, Xhekaj was working at Costco last year, was playing junior hockey, invited to Canadiens camp, and made the professional team.
Take a look at Xhekaj involved in some hockey fights…
Wi-Fi. An absolutely legendary nickname.
