Redman Gave An Incredible Behind The Scenes Breakdown Of His Classic MTV Cribs Episode

I'm sure there's people reading this who are asking "What The Hell Is MTV Cribs?" I don't blame you for asking, but trust me it was can't miss TV in the early and mid 2000's. It essentially showed off a celebrities house with them giving you a tour. It was very predictable, almost every one would show their bedroom and say "this is where the magic happens", people showing off their cars, Scarface posters, etc.

You got a bunch of very funny moments, like ICE T telling the cameras he put a vending machine in his house so he friends don't eat all his snacks.

Ty Law's hammocks breaking

and a million others I'm probably forgetting. If you watched Chappelle Show he did a fantastic spoof of Cribs in a sketch:

Cribs was a staple for young adults watching TV. You dreamed of these people's houses. You talked about it in school. There wasn't much social media where you could see all this info on your cell phone, which were still just a small black and white screen. If you were a teen or young adult at home you watched TV. And then you talked about it. And no episode got people talking more than when Redman appeared on Cribs in his Staten Island home and showed off his "interesting" lifestyle.

From the video games on the floor, the spare bedroom being a "studio", clothes on the floor, "Sugar Bear" sleeping on the floor, to  money in a shoe box on top of the fridge. The whole thing is pure comedy. Him telling the behind the scenes story of MTV being amazed by the setup and trying to stage another house and him saying fuck that is all time. Salt of the earth type guy. Very funny trip down memory lane. Man do I miss mid 2000's MTV.
