Phil The Thrill Is Heading To Vegas, Fire Up Those Glizzies On The Strip

And just like that, the Golden Knights became the hottest show in Vegas.

That's how you make a splash. That's how you turn the narrative around. Everybody has been dunking on the Golden Knights over the past few months. They went out and traded for Eichel only to be worse than the Buffalo Sabres down the stretch of the rest of the season from there. They tried to trade Evgenii Dadonov at the trade deadline to a team that was on his no-trade list, and that trade was immediately voided. They missed the playoffs. They had to trade Max Pacioretty away to the Carolina Hurricanes for "future considerations" because they are in the middle of a cap disaster. And everything just seems to be piling on for Vegas, a team who has done beyond nothing to garner any sort of sympathy for themselves.

And just when you thought they couldn't get any dumber, they go and do something like this….

AND TOTALLY REDEEM THEMSELVES.

I think Vegas finally realized just how much everybody has been rooting against them, just how much everybody has been taking sweet sweet satisfaction in their demise. So they go out and sign the one guy in the league who is universally beloved. A beauty's beauty who is impossible to root against. You bring 2x Stanley Cup Champion Phil Kessel into the mix and all of a sudden you become America's team. Just think about how electric that line with Kessel and Eichel can be to watch this year.

How about that ride in here?

Also, the hockey gods work in mysterious ways. And you can't tell me after seeing these next two tweets that this wasn't meant to be.

He can tie the NHL's longest iron man streak against Toronto, and then play in his 1000th consecutive game against the 'Yotes. The simulation is working to perfection. The signs are there and the stars are aligning. This is a move of destiny, and Phil the Thrill is now on his way to becoming a 3x Stanley Cup Champion. It'll be a horrendously bad day to be a pork missile.

Sidenote: Phil Daddy still had 44 assists last year playing in Arizona. I think he can put up those same numbers playing with  this forward lineup in Vegas.  $1.5M ain't a bad price to pay for that production.
