All The Sixers' Troubles Would Go Away If They Just Let Adam Sandler Coach The Team
Turns out that if you want to watch the Philadelphia 76ers play basketball in the month of June, the only man for the job is Adam Sandler. Granted it might be on Netflix instead of ABC, but still. Brett Brown couldn't get the job done. Doc Rivers can't get the job done. Adam Sandler is the only one who has delivered so far.
Now I haven't gotten a chance to watch "Hustle" yet. But from the looks of this clip, the fellas love to play in front of the Sandman. Tobias Harris looks like a completely different player. Matisse looks like he actually has some confidence. Tyrese Maxey is always great but it looks like Sandler has the ability to unlock a different level. All while Doc Rivers just sits there.
I've always been a big believer that when it comes to professional sports, you don't really need a coach for the X's and O's aspect of the game. You're dealing with the best athletes on the planet. They can figure that shit out on their own. All they really need is a guy who can provide some extra motivation and put these guys in a position succeed. That's the Sandman, baby.
When you really think about it, would you rather your team be playing for an NBA Championship right now or playing a key role in a new hit movie on Netflix? I have to imagine more people will watch this movie around the world than will be watching game 4 of the NBA Finals tonight. So at the end of the day, I think it's more than fair to count "Hustle" as yet another championship for the city of Philadelphia. Hang the banner and let's plan the parade.
