Ray Liotta Has Passed Away Age 67
A shocker. Ray Liotta, the terrific actor whose career breakout came in the Martin Scorsese crime classic Goodfellas, has died. Deadline hears he died in his sleep in the Dominican Republic, where he was shooting the film Dangerous Waters. We will have more details when they become available.
Liotta, for my money's worth, might be one of the greatest legends in cinema. He is the star of arguably the greatest movie of all time and delivered an insanely good performance against other legends like Pesci and De Niro.
Beyond that, he was also incredible in Field of Dreams, Observe and Report, Cop Land and more. He was versatile as hell, and was always a very welcome face when you see him in a movie. We never had the chance to interview him, but my Grandfather, Joe Manca, was an advisor on Goodfellas and had a small role as Nicky Eyes:
He always said a few things about working on that movie: De Niro was funny, Pesci was an actual asshole, and Ray Liotta was great to work with.
