The Most Romantic Scene In Cinematic History Takes You Into The Weekend

Fucking Cusack. Say anything (pun intended) you want about him, call him an insecure pink hat, but goddamn was he banger after banger for a hot minute. Lloyd Dobler, that scuzzy little underachiever, might be his best character. Dude was just in love with the classy girl from the other side of the train tracks. If you're looking for a romcom to cozy up to a WAG with this weekend, I couldn't recommend it more. Perfectly cheesy and cute. A modern day Capulets vs. Montagues. Love it.

Oh and by the way, out of all the Cusack stories that trickled out this week, this one is by far my favorite.

Absolutely hilarious. The "Yes John, I am" line followed up with Urlacher laughing about the interaction and saying, "you know that guy fucking hates you, right?" is all time. I hope this CPD officer pulls this move on Cusack until the day he dies. It's so perfect and so subtle. It's not even some important line from the movie, which makes it all the better:

It'd be so much better for him if he just played along with everything which was my original intent and thought when I went up to him, but whatever. It made for good content and the skipper is happy.

Bear down. Soxtober 2022 starts around 120 days from now when pitchers and catchers report. Let's ride. Until then, I'm gonna let the whole Cusack die down so it's not beaten into the ground.

PS - Just personally got ahold of Mike Squires after I typed out and scheduled this entire blog, and he is coming on red line radio next week so I can't let it die down until after that. This should be a doozy, ha
