It's Impossible Not To Love Najee Harris After His Press Conference Today
Steelers 2021 1st round pick Najee Harris hit the practice field for the first time as a pro this weekend. Then he put on a show once he was off the field in his post practice press media availability.
The Pittsburgh reporters and beat writers were there eagerly waiting to ask the rookie about his first weekend as a Steeler, but Najee didn't realize that they had also been actually watching him practice, too.
"Oh you saw that?" Harris asked the reporter in response to him asking Najee about a specific catch from practice. "You guys were here?" he continued after the reporter confirmed he saw the catch. "Man I thought y'all was boosters," Harris said with a big, surprised smile on his face.
Holy Bear Bryant. Say you went to Alabama without saying you went to Alabama. Dude had absolutely no idea that the media in the NFL are there for every workout, every practice, everything they can be. Thought they were just some wealthy yinzers or sponsors of the practice facility getting their first look at the rook.
He wasn't done there.
Later, a reporter followed up on the one-handed catch and asked if that's something he added to his arsenal during his extended time at Alabama instead of coming out early. Harris put his head down, laughed, and responded:
"Bro, what?"
I love it. I love this guy. I do. I loved the pick when they took him 24. I love it now even more. Personality, confidence, good dude doing work in the community. He's going to be a stud, and I can't wait for Big Ben to John Elway himself in his last year (maybe years) because of Najee. Just ride the rook. Plus, he's internet savvy. He's already meme'd himself for this entire season, especially for all the people who were shitting on his draft pick. You just circle back on those come October / November and drop a "Bro, what?"
