Maybe This Was George Parros' Master Plan All Along

Maybe it's because the Flyers have been a catastrophe this season but I haven't been as excited about a hockey game as I am for tonight's Rangers vs Caps game in a loooooong time. Someone get Taylor Swift on the call with George Parros to tell him to take a look at what he's done. Because baby now we've got bad blood.

But what if--and stay with me here--what if this was all a part of George Parros' master plan? What if he's been building towards this moment since September 2017 when he became the head of the Department of Player Safety?

George Parros is a smart man. He went to Princeton. And he's way too smart to not realize just slapping Tom Wilson with a $5000 fine for the incident against New York was an egregious underreaction. We live in an era of massive overreaction so I get not wanting to send the man to jail in handcuffs like some clowns in the media would have preferred. But a $5000 fine for that? Parros is way too smart to not have something up his sleeve.

As a former NHL tough guy himself, he has to see that his former role in the game is quickly diminishing. And he knows the only way to keep fighting in hockey is to make it a necessity. And how does he do that? Simple. By keeping Tom Wilson in the game and forcing the players to take care of it themselves in the very next game. Do you want to know what tonight should look like at MSG?

It only makes sense that George Parros was featured in that scene. Life imitates art. It's beautiful.

I don't know, man. It just seems like anyone with half of a functioning brain would have been able to look at the reckless actions of Wilson combined with his previous history and come to the conclusion that he should sit for the rest of the regular season. Especially a guy who is Ivy League educated. So either George Parros is just an absolute imbecile, or this has been his plan all along. Really hoping for the latter.

And as for the Rangers…you gotta call this guy up.
