Anthony Rizzo Putting The Cubs On His Back, Homers In 4th Straight Game

We all know that the Cubs are young and will go through extended teamwide hitting stretches but what Anthony Rizzo has done in the past 4 days deserves all the accolades. Struggling to score runs and coming off the horrendous weekend series against Philly, Rizzo has now homered in 4 straight games and not just throw away blowout home runs. 3 out of 4 have been the game winning RBI, and Friday was a 3 run blast down 2-0 in the 8th inning. Again, I’m not saying the Cubs are there yet, it’s still going to be tough for them to make the playoffs, but if it happens it will be in large part due to Rizzo. This team is fun and it’s August. Read that sentence again and smile. The window is just starting to open.
