Does This Look Like The Face Of Remy The Basset Hound Who Jumped Out A Three-Story Window Chasing A Stupid Cat And Was Saved By His Giant Ears?

Metro- Meet Remy. He looks like a basset hound and floats like a butterfly. Sort of. The puppy was chilling in the attic room of his three-bed in West Sussex last week, when he spotted a cat on the street outside. So, he dived out of the third-floor window (which had been left slightly ajar) in pursuit. But, according to his owners, his fall was broken by his giant ‘Dumbo’ ears. The basset hound escaped with only minor injuries despite falling 30 feet onto the concrete pavement. ‘I don’t know if he was trying to glide down or if it was his ears that saved him. It’s just a miracle,’ said owner Suzi Lane. She added: ‘He’s quite clingy and doesn’t like to be left alone, but we have to go out sometimes. This was one of those occasions. We were at a concert and had a couple of missed calls from our next-door neighbours saying that the dog had fallen out of the attic window.’ ‘He’s my little superhero. I love the idea of a flying dog, like Dumbo. Maybe his ears did play a part in his fall, but we’ll never know for certain.’

Welp.  I guess we can check “Being A Real-Life Superhero” off the list of things that make dogs the greatest living things in the history of the universe.  Remy the basset hound breaking ground on that by jumping out his window and literally (well maybe not literally but kinda) flying using his ears.  Sure, people might say he was chasing a stupid cat because he wanted to attack it and kill it.  I prefer to think that the cat was in trouble and Remy decided to risk life and limb and try to help.  We don’t have the explanation of what the cat was doing but that”s a pretty good bet.  Knowing dogs as well as we do, which of those scenarios seem more plausible: Remy jumping out a window to viciously maul another one of God’s creatures or Remy jumping out a window to care for and nurture and save an animal in distress?  Exactly.  Remy doesn’t have a violent bone in his body.

That guy couldn’t hurt a living creature if he tried.  As far as his ears actually slowing him down and saving him form the fall, I’m not a scientist.  I’m a blogger.  Who am I to say his ears played no part in saving Remy’s life?  Those ears look like goddamn parachutes to me.  Superhero dog FTW.
