John Daly On Young Golfers Being In Shape: "I Don't Work Out, I Put Out"
FTW- Speaking to the BBC on Thursday morning during the first round of the British Open, 1995 champ John Daly was asked a relatively simple question about the fitness levels of modern tour pros. He gave a very John Daly answer: “All these kids work out. I don’t workout. I put out.”
Listen, I don’t WANT to blog every move John Daly makes but when he’s burning heaters during interviews and saying things like this my hands are tied. He’s walking, talking blog material. That quote is so good and so fitting for Daly that it almost feels like somebody made it up. Nope. That’s just John. The best part is that answer was totally unnecessary. The question was a completely valid. John is historically a fat guy who had major championship success early on his career and didn’t feel the need to work out. Lots of pros now do weight training and have nutritionists. So what does JD think of that? He over shares and says he doesn’t work out, he just fucks. Okay then.
(paraphrased)
“Hey John, what do you think of all these young kids and their muscles and their healthy lifestyles?”
“Yeah man. All these kids work out. I don’t get it. I smoke 3 packs a day and get my cardio from consistently entering the Bone Zone.”
Hey you can’t argue with results
