Gilbert Arenas Wants LeBron To Let Him Be A Coaching Intern For The Lakers ... And It Might Actually Happen
Without absolutely zero hyperbole, I need to see this happen right this second. Gilbert Arenas turning into a head coach would be AWESOME. Why? Because you don't know what the fuck is going to happen with Gil. Not to mention we'd finally have a coach speak his mind and not give a shit what people says about him. I'm ready for him to take over for Thibs when he refuses to play Obi/Mitchell Robinson/Quickley/RJ and another rookie or 2nd year guy for whatever reason. I'm ready for Coach Arenas.
But the fact that he wants to go to the Lakers? Sure, it seems smart to be on the bench for a 'super team.' What really makes it is his history with LeBron:
You know Arenas still isn't over that shit. Hell, Nick Young is still bringing it up to him
Speaking of that moment. If LeBron just acted like that all the time I fully believe he'd actually be liked. If he was just this dude that played mind games like HHH and delivered? He'd actually be .. dare I say, cool? Instead we only got this once. And the worst part is it came against an actual cool player in Gil. People sometimes forget how damn good Arenas was because of all the shit that happened towards the end of his career. You know, guns in the locker room, a shitty contract and again the gun situation in the locker room.
If Gil wants to be an intern, he needs to be a real intern. None of this I'm rich bullshit. None of this hanging out with players either. He has to hang out awkwardly in a shitty desk with the other interns unsure what to do until you just wander into a gambling stream. Or something like that. Either way, I need to see intern Gilbert Arenas.
