WATCH: An Alabama High School Football Team Somehow Lost Its State Championship Despite Being Up 9 And Having A 1st Down With 1:18 Left In The Game At Bryant-Denny Stadium
I know what you are thinking to yourself. Clem, you fine ass motherfucker, how in the world could a football team lose a game where they are up 9 with 1:18 left in the game and have a fresh set of downs? That seems impossible for ANY football team to do. It doesn't matter if it's a Pee Wee team, a high school team, the University of Georgia, the Atlanta Falcons, or even the San Diego Chargers (We are not calling them the Los Angeles Chargers until they stop acting like the San Diego Chargers).
Well my lovely friend, the reason you clicked this blog is to see just what fucked up events on the gridiron could make that seemingly impossible puzzle fit together that ruined dozens of lives and made the social media ninja of Alabama 7A Football an Old Takes Exposed Hall of Famer.
None of those kids are going to be able to hear "Ice, Ice, Baby" without breaking into a cold sweat for the rest of their lives
I imagine things started with a few running plays followed by some timeouts followed by a blocked punt returned for a touchdown:
Followed by an onside kick:
Followed by I'm guessing a couple of quick passes to set up a game winning field goal as time expired:
Followed by pain:
That's why they call it Special Teams, folks! That was 10 points in 18 seconds for those keeping track at home and potentially the Football Gods evening out Bama losing the Kick 6 game at Jordan–Hare Stadium seven years ago by having Auburn High School getting their guts ripped out at Bryant-Denny.
They say youth sports are supposed to teach kids important life lessons. But nobody should learn a lesson as gutting as this while they are teenagers. You shouldn't know the pain of riding the highest of highs of life before having it all taken away from you until you go from being a senior in college to being a broke ass graduate with a ton of debt and 1,000 emails trying to get an entry level job with a billion other kids with the same or better qualifications than you. Fuck man, that was brutal.
Best of luck to all the young men on Auburn not only for losing a state title but because simply watching a Bama home football game will probably make each and every one of them want to puke everywhere for the rest of their lives.
