Sixers Have No Other Damn Choice And Take Best Available At #3

First and foremost I would like to congratulate the #1 overall pick, Karl-Anthony** Towns (so we all make mistakes ¯\_(?)_/¯ ). Not going to lie I was beyond disappointed when the Lakers took Russell with the #2 pick. I really thought he would be a perfect fit in Philly. But, with that being said I think we grabbed a potential 20+ points and 10+ rebounds per game guy in Jahlil. I’m not saying that’s what his rookie numbers are going to come out to be but I think his potential in this league as a back to the basket, low post threat is endless. His offensive game is completely polished and virtually unstoppable. We’ll see how he fairs against veteran centers but I don’t see anybody stopping this guy from getting buckets. Yes, we are a little crowded at the center and PF position but I’d rather see them rotate and take less minutes while we’re losing games so that they’re fresh for the championship run in 2020.

In terms of the second round, I don’t really want to talk about it much. I don’t think anybody understands why we took FOUR centers in the second round after taking a center with our third pick. It makes no sense. The only addition in the second round who looks like he’ll be on the team (if he makes it) is JP Tokoto from UNC. He can shoot it out to 15 feet and will dunk on your face. He’s unbelievably athletic and maybe can become a defensive stopper if given the right opportunity.

This draft was a little disappointing. As a fan it’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel after using our last 3 high draft picks on Centers (and trading away our high drafted PG). It’s not a bad thing to have a lot of talent at one position, but you can’t start 3 centers or fill in the rest of the roster with average, usually undrafted talent and expect to win some games. I think that is what is making some fans upset with this long process. Tankadelphia trudges along. On the bright side, the rest of our team is getting along swimmingly… Here’s last years 2nd round pick Jordan McRae, Bob Covington and Isaiah Canaan KILLING the whip and nae nae combo.
