We're 48 Hours From the Start of College Basketball and the Season Is Already Going to Hell
With the way this college football season has gone for Tennessee and the basketball roster the Vols have, I have been more excited for this college basketball season than I have been for anything in quite some time. And now that we were just 48 hours away from the supposed start of the season, everything is going to shit.
Rick Barnes and reportedly other have tested positive at Tennessee. Baylor backed out of its season-opening tournament. Duke and Arizona had to cancel their season openers. It's all bad. And games haven't even started with teams traveling across the country yet.
We all need to do our best prayer or routine or whatever else you need to do, because my brain is not in a good place right now. Never have we, as a college basketball community, been in more dire need of positive vibes. This feels like an all too familiar song and dance from this past March and I simply won't have it. We deserve this season, damn it.
So I will spend the next few days and weeks in a state of willful ignorance and blind faith, as I would instruct everyone else to do, as well. We will play a full college basketball season and crown a national champion.
