Tommy Stats NFL Week 6: Big Ben In October, Teddy B At Home, Bucs Overs And More
Welcome back to the lab. Every Sunday morning during this NFL season, I'll be blogging the stats and trends that I presented on Barstool Sports Advisors, plus some additional ones that I didn't get to use. These stats are a mixture of ones I've found across various websites, and also some just through my own research from pouring through the data.
Below is my entire cheat sheet I use for Advisors each week. Lines courtesy of the Barstool Sportsbook, subject to change from the time I compiled this.
Cleveland Browns (4-1, 3-2 ATS) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (4-0, 3-1 ATS)
1 PM on CBS
PIT -3.5
T 50.5
All of the stats here are pointing towards the Steelers, which is not particularly surprising since the Browns have a long history of sucking. It is worth noting how particularly dominant Big Ben and the Steelers have been in the month of October. With the Saints losing Monday, the Steelers are the new October darlings.
-In his career October home games, Ben Roethlisberger is 19-6 ATS
-Roethlisberger has never lost to the Browns at home
-Pittsburgh is 8-1-1 ATS past 10 games played in October
-Steelers are 21-7-1 ATS in their last 28 October games
Chicago Bears (4-1, 3-2 ATS) @ Carolina Panthers (3-2, 3-2 ATS)
1 PM on FOX
CAR -2.5
T 44
We all know Teddy Bridgewater has a big ole schlong, but did you also know he's been excellent at home in his career as a starter? Big Dick Teddy needs his respect.
-At home in his career, Teddy Bridgewater is 14-6 ATS
-As a home favorite in his career, Teddy Bridgewater is 9-4 ATS
Baltimore Ravens (4-1, 3-2 ATS) @ Philadelphia Eagles (1-3-1, 1-4 ATS)
1 PM on CBS
BAL -7.5
T 47.5
A bit of a unique stat here. A lot of trends are pointing towards the Ravens over team total 27.5 points.
-Since the start of 2019, the Ravens average 36 PPG on the road. Have scored over 27.5 points in 8 of those 10 games
-The Eagles have been allowing 29 PPG this season. The Ravens average 30 PPG this season.
Also worth noting how good the Ravens have been on the road and subpar the Eagles have been at home.
-Eagles are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 games as a home underdog.
-Lamar Jackson is 9-3 ATS in his road career
Green Bay Packers (4-0, 4-0 ATS) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-2, 2-3 ATS)
4:25 PM on FOX
GB -2
T 54
A lot of Bucs trends here are pointing towards the over.
-Under Bruce Arians, Bucs overs are 8-2 at home with an average of 57 PPG
-Bucs overs are 8-0 in their last 8 after a loss
-Bucs overs are 8-1 in their last 9 as an underdog
It's worth noting that none of those stats apply to a Brady vs. Rodgers showdown, which makes the over even more appealing. There are also no statistically significant trends on the Packers coming off a bye.
Los Angeles Rams (4-1, 3-2 ATS) @ San Francisco 49ers (2-3, 2-3 ATS)
8:20 PM on NBC
LAR -3.5
T 51
-The 49ers are 2-7-1 ATS in divisional home games under Kyle Shanahan
-Conversely, the Rams are 7-2 ATS in divisional road games under Sean McVay
