The Cavaliers Vowed To Retaliate Against The Celtics After Kevin Love Got Injured
The incident
The retaliation
Masslive - Game 4 between the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers turned ugly. Apparently, at least part of that was by design. Celtics radio analyst Cedric Maxwell said Cavaliers players vowed to retaliate after Kevin Love dislocated his shoulder while tangled up with Kelly Olynyk. “I talked to some of the Cavaliers players, and one of the things they mentioned to me, they said, ‘Look, what happened to Kevin Love, we’re going to retaliate,'” Maxwell said Sunday night on WBZ-TV’s Sports Final (video below). “That might have happened when (Kendrick Perkins) came in the game and had the hard foul (on Jae Crowder), and also, at the same time, it could have happened really with (J.R. Smith’s elbow to) Crowder, because they banged him around pretty good. They might have been sending a message back.”
Retaliation? Intent to injure? Are you fucking kidding me? I want Silver on this now. I want an investigation announced immediately. If this turns out to be remotely true then the Cleveland Cavaliers CANNOT be allowed to continue in these NBA playoffs. They must forfeit. The integrity of the game depends on this. I don’t care what the score of this game was, I don’t care that Cleveland was clearly the better team, if the NBA wants to promote fair and balanced play then teams CANNOT be rewarded for going out there and intentionally injuring superstars on the other team. It’s unconscionable that Adam Silver hasn’t acted on this yet. This kind of action starts from the top down. It starts with the team’s leadership. If Dan Gilbert had an ounce of honor he’d take this out of the league’s hands and fire both David Blatt and Lebron James right this second.
