It's Do Or Die Tonight

It’s do or die tonight. Am I nervous? Yea, I guess I’m nervous. It’s game 7. If you aren’t nervous, you aren’t living. Losing this game would fucking suck. I need this. I’ve talked too much trash. I care way too much. And I’ve seen game 7’s end the season far too many times. How have game 7’s gone recently for the Caps? Not good, you guys.

2012 was awesome. Joel Ward baby!  2009 round 1 was amazing. Sergei! 2010? Miserable. Lost to Halak and the 8th seed Habs. 2009 round 2? Miserable. Go fuck yourself Varlamov. 2008? Miserable.

But this team is different. The defense is so much better than those other teams. Holtby’s focus and game right now is head and shoulders above the goaltending of those other teams. The physical nature of this series has taken a toll on the Islanders, who will have all sorts of matchup problems having to make the first line change on the road.

The Caps chased Halak out of the arena in game 5. Game 6 the Isles got the best of them, as the Caps looked tired and couldn’t exploit the Isles depleted D. Now Trotz gets to pick the matchups. Ovi gets to feed off the home crowd. Wilson wants to kill one last Islander.

Only line change is Latta is out, Glencross is in. Glencross was acquired at the deadline and started out hot, then cooled off big. He is an offensive threat and fresh.

Tonight is do or die for the Caps. Really want to send the Isles down to Brooklyn hipsterville and never let them back in that bumfuck arena again. Let’s. Go.
