Ken Hitchcock Says He's Sticking With Jake Allen And Right On Cue, Allen Immediately Gives Up Awful Goal
Heading into the playoffs, the goalie position was a huge question mark for the St. Louis Blues. Between Jake Allen and Brian Elliott, the Blues don’t have a clear cut #1 guy and they got exposed in this series with the Wild, especially when Jake Allen gave up what seemed to be the worst goal of the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs right here. But mistakes happen and nobody is more aware of that than Blues coach Ken Hitchcock. So being the rational guy that Hitch is, he gave Allen the benefit of the doubt and gave him the vote of confidence for the rest of the game.
Whoops ¯\_(?)_/¯. That couldn’t have worked out any more perfectly both in terms of timing and in regards to it happening to Ken Hitchcock. I’m sure plenty of people are excited to see the Blues get bounced from the playoffs this early, but no more Ken Hitchcock this year is a tough pill to swallow. He’s undoubtedly one of the most unintentionally funny men in the world and brings me so much joy. Like the kind of guy who would cause a too many men on the ice penalty just because he ripped ass on the bench and someone couldn’t take it anymore so they just hopped the boards to escape the stench. I miss having Hitch in Philadelphia and would love to have him back. Not necessarily to coach the team again, but just to be my buddy. So adios to the 2014-15 St. Louis Blues, and let’s give Coach Captain Kangaroo the send off tribute that he deserves.
