Kristen Stewart Will Play Princess Diana In An Upcoming Movie
The Steven Knight-scripted film covers a critical weekend in the early ‘90s, when Diana decided her marriage to Prince Charles wasn’t working, and that she needed to veer from a path that put her in line to one day be queen. The drama takes place over three days, in one of her final Christmas holidays in the House of Windsor in their Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England. Production is expected to begin in early 2021.
The princess Diana obsession wasn't something I really grew up understanding since she died when I was 4, but my mom used to tell me how she basically had the world wrapped around her finger. There is such a weird air of mystery about her (especially how she died) that makes it ripe for a newer movie so, conceptually, I really like the idea of a biopic or drama about her. But this isn't about her death, or the circumstances surrounding it, so that definitely reigns in my interest a bit.
As far as the casting goes, I think that Kristen Stewart, much like her old flame/costar Robert Pattinson, gets kind of a bad rep from the twilight movies. She's a solid actresses that has been in plenty of shitty movies just like every other actor and actresses in the world. I think she can capture that weird, mysterious aura behind the people's princess, but I'm not sure if I like this fit. Director Pablo Larrain did a great job capturing a similarly famous woman in Jackie O, though. I'll just say that I'm hesitant at best right now. Anyway, remember when the President was obsessed with Pattinson/Stewart?
