No, the Nats didn’t win yesterday. But at least they still have their pride. The Marlins couldn’t even get through 1 game without Marlin-ing. And yea I know they are the hot pick to sneak into a Wild Card spot, but I’m not really sold on that. And especially after yesterday.  I will give center fielder Marcell Ozuna credit for selling the shit out of that catch though. To the point I think it should count. It’s like in wrestling where you have to sell a move to make it seem like it had more impact, he sold that catch like HBK oversold every move in his match vs Hogan.

 

 

Then you have the rain delay. Earth to the Marlins, y’all have a roof. And advanced weather radar. And eyes. Don’t give me the “but it’s Miami, storms are so unpredictable!” excuse. You’re right, it is Miami, act like you’ve been there before.

And then 3, the bunt. Dee Gordon probably would have legged that out too. If not for the Jared Lorenzen #chickenfries belly flop 10 feet out of the box.

 

PS: Max Scherzer pitched an absolute gem yesterday. 8 Ks, 0 earned runs, 4 hits in 7 2/3. Sure he lost the game, but it wasn’t on him. You have to be a complete fool to believe the Nats are in trouble or Scherzer stunk yesterday. He dominated. The bats besides Harper didn’t wake up and Desmond had two bad errors in the field. Once Rendon and Werth and Span are back, the Nats will be cooking with fire.
