25 Movies You Should Stream This Week According To Kenjac
1. Lady Bird
It's one of the select few movies Trillballins gave a 100/100 for a reason, folks.
2. Observe and Report
I think this movie kind of gets lost in the 2005-2015 shuffle of Seth Rogen movies, but I still enjoy it quite a bit.
3. 13th
Ava Duvernay is one of the better film makers working today, and this is an outstanding/revealing documentary
4. Mud
I still find this to be one of the most underrated McConaughey roles and just underrated movies in general. Well worth a watch.
5. The Florida Project
This was an easy top-10 movie for me in 2017. It's an extremely raw and well-acted movie that will really make you feel.
1. Ad Astra
This movie didn't click with audiences the way I had hoped, but like I said in my review, it's not for everyone. I still found it spellbinding and I think Pitt should have gotten a best lead actor nom for this well before best supporting in OUTIH.
2. Doubt
Bar-none one of the best movies I've ever seen. Must-watch.
The next-gen X-Men movies don't get enough respect, in my opinion. Dark Phoenix and Apocolypse aren't good, but both this film and Days of Future Past are top 20 comic book movies in my opinion.
4. Ray
Jamie Foxx remains one of the great multi-hyphenates of his generation. What a goddamn talent.
I don't need to pitch you on this, do I? No pun intended.
It's Harry Potter, man.
2. Seven Samurai (And the whole Kurosawa collection)
I know all film geeks cum their pants at the mention of Kurosawa, but he really is one of the greats. His influence on movies is noticeable in basically any and every movie you will ever watch.
One of the best animated movies ever. Yet another must-watch.
An all-time war movie with incredible performances across the board. RIP to Kubrick and R. Lee Ermey (Did anyone else watch basically every episode of Mail Call on the History Channel?)
5. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
I was hoping they would have the extended editions, but whatever.
1. Casino
Aprapos of nothing, Sam Rothstein is still such a cool name.
I'm a simple man. When I'm farming through streaming services for these blogs and I see a Mel Brooks movie, I immediately add it to the list.
3. I Am Legend
I'm still traumatized by Sam's death, but that won't ever stop me from rewatching this .
This movie didn't get nearly enough play as it deserved, because it is funny, easy to love, and features the best Regina Hall performance I've ever seen.
Lemme get another look at Cruise.
1. Just Mercy
This movie was made available to watch early in light of everything going on. Well worth the watch for the lesson and the incredible story it's based on.
2. I Am Not Your…
James Baldwin was one of the most intelligent and incredible minds of the 20th century, and a lot of his thoughts from this doc are very relevant to everything going on today.
This movie and the manga it's based off of inspired decades worth of sci fi content. Beyond being an incredible movie in it's own right, it's amazing to watch and note everything you've watched that drew ideas from it.
One of my favorite movies in the last decade, it's yet another must-watch in my eyes. Ben Foster is one of the best actors working right now, and this was Thomasin Mackenzie's coming out party.
It's the terminator, baby!
