Famous Celebrity Plastic Surgeon Kills Himself Because Martin Short Made Fun Of Him
(Martin Short on left, real dude on right)
(Source) — According to reports, Dr. Fredric Brandt—the celebrity dermatologist behind the many faces of Madonna and Stephanie Seymour—was found dead Sunday in his Miami home. Brandt’s publicist, Jacquie Trachtenberg, confirmed his death, saying, “He passed away this morning. He was suffering from an illness. Everyone who knows him is devastated… I worked with him for over 20 years and he was an amazing man, not only was he a brilliant doctor, but he was the kindest human being.”
Wait Dr. Fredric Brandt is a real dude? And that’s what he seriously looks like? I swear to God this is true, when I watched Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt that scene pissed me off because it was so unrealistic. Seriously. I was cool with everything else in the show. 4 girls trapped in a bunker for 15 years? Fine. They come out perfectly healthy? Yup. Weird, asexual amoeba plastic surgeon? Boooooo. I was watching it thinking “Oh haha all plastic surgeons are superficial lunatics. That’s pretty low-hanging fruit.” Turns out it wasn’t about plastic surgeons in general, but one in particular. And, not surprisingly, Tina Fey nailed it. I guess my only question is this: was Martin Short’s impression the first time Dr. Frederic Brandt realized he was an asshole? Like was he getting up every morning, looking in the mirror thinking he was hot as fuck? A Netflix show finally lifted the veil on his narcissism and he realized he looked like an experiment gone wrong? Seems impossible but I guess when you’re loco enough to keep sticking needles in your face you’re loco enough to convince yourself it’s sexy. All I know is this was a lose-lose for Dr. Brandt: continue living looking like that, or kill yourself and be remembered as the guy who couldn’t handle a Martin Short impression. No winning choice there.
PS – Lesley Abravanel, I don’t think “protagonist” means what you think it means. The character had a very brief stint in one episode, he was not the protagonist.
