Nova Strolls Into Second Round After Steamrolling Lowly Lafayette

Annnnndddd that’s why Villanova is a title contender. All five starters in double figures, Patriot League Tournament MVP Nick Linder held to 3 points on SIX, count em’, SIX turnovers and a 40 point blow out. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again if you have not hopped on board the Nova bandwagon do yourself a favor and buy yourself a ticket, because this team may just have the balls to get to the Final 4 and get the natty ship. This game was basically out-of-hand at halftime and at one point in the second half had reached a 45 point difference. It’s incredible that game in and game out no matter the score of the game or the opponent this team continues to play as one cohesive unit. A talented teams demise is the ability to play down to your opponents level (HINT: Iowa State, Baylor, almost UNC). This team NEVER allows themselves to play down to their opponents level and brings it every second their out on the court.

Now did anyone watch the LSU NC State game? You didn’t miss much if you didn’t. LSU was up 10 with about 10 minutes to go and completely blew the lead. Down the stretch LSU missed something like 6 free throws and NC State missed 4 straight three pointers. It was excruciating to watch these two teams play for the mediocrity crown. NC State pulled it out on a tip in put back by DJ Anya at the buzzer which I guess was pretty cool because buzzer beaters and shit but if you had watched the 2 minutes before that your eyes were already spilled onto floor.

The main point of the blog: Villanova is about to eviscerate NC State. Blood and guts all over the place. It’s going to be unfair and it won’t even be close. Probably end up around a 15-20 point game that you didn’t even break a sweat during other than while eating the endless amounts of food surrounding you. NC State is the GOAT of going through the motions. The fact that they were losing by 12 in the second half to LSU is embarrassing. Cat Barber will strut out for warm-ups in his earrings with his hair all did, DJ Anya will be late for pre game stretches, and Mark Gottfried will not call a single new play that Nova hasn’t prepared for. I can’t wait to kick all the “Nova’s out in the second round like always” haters to the curb. Hell, PTI’s Pablo Torres today went on record and said Lafayette was going to beat the Cats. HA! In your dreams, Pablo.
