The Patriots Are Officially Not Picking Up Darrelle Revis' 20 Million Dollar Option

I guess this is blog worthy even though it was entirely expected and not a surprise to anyone at all? I mean this was 100% happening from day one. The Patriots were never going to pay a player 20 million dollars for a single year. It was a placeholder contract and a fancy way to make a one year deal. But is there anyone out there right now who is actually thinking that this is the end? Like are there people saying that Belichick the GM is fucking over Belichick the coach and that kind of nonsense? Because Darrelle Revis will be in a New England Patriots uniform next year. The Patriots sever ties with players when they’re on the decline, not when they’re in their prime. If I know Revis was a humungous part of last year’s Super Bow, and you know that, then I assure you Bill Belichick knows that. He can be stubborn, but he’s not an idiot. No one has ever accused him of that. So this is silly to even talk about. It really is. I’m as scared of the Jets getting Revis as I am of the Jets beating us next year. That’s exactly zero scared. Darrelle Revis will get his money, the Patriots will get their guy, and then we’ll be on to one for the thumb. It’s simple as that.
