Doug Baldwin Says His Shitting Out/On A Football Celebration Was Directed At Darrelle Revis

(ESPN) – Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin apologized Monday night for the Super Bowl touchdown celebration that earned him an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and a fine, and revealed it was directed at New England Patriots cornerback Darrelle Revis. “I do regret the fact that it cost my team 15 yards, and to the fans, ultimately I apologize to anybody I offended in any way,” Baldwin said Monday night on “The Barbershop” on 710 ESPN Seattle. “It wasn’t about that. I just think it was a competitive situation. So to all the 12s, all the fans, that’s not what it’s about. So I apologize to anyone if I offended you. In that moment, it was just a reaction,” he added later in the show. “So obviously if I could go back, I would take it back.”

I’m not even mad at Doug Baldwin for a celebration directed at Revis. Sure he got shut down the rest of the game but when you get 1 catch for 3 yards then it’s impossible to act like you’ve been there before. We didn’t tell Armstrong not to celebrate on the moon, right? But what is ridiculous is Baldwin trying to say this was all in the moment and just a reaction. My fucking ass bro. You could score 10,000 touchdowns in your career, with a new celebration every time and you’d never randomly pretend to shit it out/shit on it (I’m still not sure which he did). This was a reaction like Joe Horn was a reaction. So you want to do dumb touchdown dances that make you look like an idiot when you suck the rest of the game? I’m fine with that. But admit that you spent two weeks thinking it up instead of studying film and that’s why you got your ass locked up. Don’t try and pull it off as an “I was wrapped up in the moment” Super Bowl move.
