Capitals Fans Put Up A "Winter Classic Champs" Banner At Their Practice Facility After Beating The Blackhawks

(Source) The Washington Capitals won the Winter Classic. It’s a big freaking deal for them. They’re going to Disneyland! And some people are so excited they decided to hang a banner at Washington’s practice Saturday at the Kettler Capitals Iceplex.

God Dammit this is just so fucking cute. Like I looked at this sign and giggled at how cute it was. Then I saw the “AWESOME!!!” and absolutely lost it. Have a little self respect guys, have a little aspiration for bigger and better things. You’re basically admitting that beating the Blackhawks in the winter classic is the highlight of the season, that and Ovechkin scoring a bunch of meaningless goals. Seriously I’m not even trying to mock Washington here, I just find this banner and the enthusiasm for a regular season win charming. Like the little engine that could. Remember that story? That’s what the Capitals remind me of. Only difference is in this story the little engine crashes and burns in a horrific accident in the first or second round of the playoffs like every other year. Toot Toot!
