So You're Tellin Me There's A Chance?

Is it a great chance? Not at fucking all but there is still a chance and that is what we have to hold on to. It sucks to be a Yankee fan and having to hold on to this little bit of hope, but look at it like this, KFC would kill to still have playoff hopes in May let alone September. So how do we make the playoffs?

• Yankees: We need to win out the rest of the season, it is as simple as that. If we can find a way to sweep the Rays this week and then handle our business in Houston, at the very least we’re not going down without a fight.
• Rays: They are 5 games ahead of us so we’d need to not only get these 3 head to head, but also have that send them into a tailspin for their final series in Toronto.
• Indians: These guys are doing what they are supposed to and beating the teams they are supposed to. Unfortunately for the Yankees they wrap up the season against the White Sox (Fuck you Dave and your AAA team) and then the Twins. In all likelihood they run these 2 teams and have the first wild card spot.
• Rangers: They blew the AL West by losing 15 games this month so far but they wrap up the season playing the Astros and Angels at home. We need these division rivals to get fired up to keep the Rangers out of the playoffs.
• Royals: First of all I can’t believe I am writing about them in a playoff hunt ahead of the Yankees. They need to choke hard against the Mariners and then the White Sox for the Yankees to jump them. I legitimately forgot they were a major league team this year so I have no insight into them as a team. Did we play them?
• Orioles: They played some great games in the last week but haven’t won all of those great games. Last night they lost Machado to what looks like a horrific leg injury. Most likely they lose at least 1 game to the Blue Jays and then fluff the Red Sox into the playoffs next week.

So there it is. Not pretty, but possible. They’re saying we have a 0.4% chance of making the Wild Card and that sucks, but at least I’m not a Mets fan!
