Rajon Rondo Was Honored Last Night With A Nice Tribute Video, Also Said He Hasn't Played Defense In The Past 2 Years

Nice tribute from the Celtics and probably the last one we’ll see in awhile since Rondo was the last player left from the 2008 championship team. Rajon Rondo will always go down as a Celtic great but is definitely a notch or 2 down from guys like Bird, Russell, Havliceck and Pierce. He’s like 2 notches higher than Antoine Walker and 2 below Pierce. The fact that he wasn’t even watching the tribute the whole time and seemingly showed no emotion what so ever kind of solidifies that (not that he ever shows much emotion anyway).  Still, At the end of the day Rondo was an extremely fun player to watch, he brought it every night and was always capable of doing something you had never seen before however it was obvious he couldn’t win by himself and needs other superstars around him in order to maximize his talent. As far as him saying he hasn’t played defense in 2 years is concerned I think its a non story. He was obviously injured for most of the past 2 seasons and probably didn’t go as hard as he possibly could have to start this year so in his mind “he hasn’t played defense”  but I think it was his way of saying he needs to step it up on the Mavs while also trolling the Boston media.  I’m happy he got traded to a contender and Dallas will definitely be the team I’m rooting for come playoff time. When Rondo and Dirk start to mesh offensively its going to be really fun to watch and should be a formidable opponent to the Spurs big 3 come spring time .

PS – how about Dirk casually throwing up jumpers during the pre game intros?, not sure I’ve ever seen that before. Ball don’t sleep I guess.
