Eric Musselman Not Knowing How To Do 'Anything Besides Basketball' And Begging His Wife To Do TikToks While Quarantined Hits Way Too Close To Home
[The Athletic] - “People keep talking about these honey-do lists,’’ says Danyelle Musselman, whose husband, Eric, is the coach at Arkansas coach. “All Eric can do is coach basketball and recruit. He doesn’t know how to do anything else.’’
Specifically, Eric doesn’t play golf or watch a lot of non-sports TV, and he does most of his reading on the treadmill. He’s not handy, or terribly into board games, yet he needs to be amused and entertained as much as his 10-year-old daughter. In a span of minutes, Eric, in fact, asked his wife if she wanted to take the dog for a walk, make a TikTok video and organize his closet. “I told him if he’d leave alone, I’d do the TikTok later,’’ Danyelle said. “I don’t want to make a TikTok. I’m in sweats. I need to put makeup on, but it was the only way I could shut him up.’’
Alright, this one hit a bit too close to home for me. Obviously Muss is our guy here at Barstool. We all love him, he loves us. But, it sounds like Muss is completely useless around the house. You know what? SAME. I can't do shit. You think I can fix something? Absolutely not. Never could, have no desire to learn. I'd 100% rather pay someone to come deal with it than take time out of my day to figure out the correct way to fix an appliance without it breaking again.
OF COURSE all Muss knows is basketball and recruiting. Look at him on social media recently:
My man is lost without hoops. He has no idea what to do. He's out there trying to run some 1 on 0 drills in the gym. He has his assistant coaches practicing multiplication, probably so he can remember it to help his daughter. I assume he just turns every math problem into a hoops situation when she asks for help.
I do find it absolutely hilarious that he's just bugging his wife trying to get her to do a TikTok. I imagine Muss just begging like a little kid wanting attention. Pleading and then celebrating when Danyelle finally says yes. I assume this is how Mrs. Carl feels when Carl asks her to film him talking about sand or any of his live shots.
Then again, can't say I'm surprised Muss is staying hip with the TikTok (he should 100% collab with Stool Team 6 when we can get back together with humans). Remember these recruiting pictures?
The point is this all just hits way too close to home. Coaches are stuck at their houses with their wives instead of being in the Tournament and recruiting. Coaches don't know how to be normal people and sit at home. They don't know how to fix anything. They are 100% watching film.
The quarantine has people doing crazy shit. I might learn how to fix an appliance when it's all said and done. Muss might play a board game. All the same.
