My First Blog: Who The Hell Is Will Compton?

What up, squad?

I was mindlessly scrolling earlier (more-so than ever due to this rona virus keeping me in the house until another snack comes to mind that I need to go buy) when I came across the boy Joey Mulinaro (s/o Joey) signing with Barstool. My first thought - HUGE move by Barstool. He crushes content, impressions, and executes the internet very well so I was stoked to see him get picked up. BIG congratulations to Joey and joining the pirate ship. My second thought - is it really that simple to drop a blog? And if so, I might as well add blogging to my quarantined life so I can get acquainted with the Stoolies more.

So here we are. I'm fuckin' blogging.

For those who don't know me I am William Earl Compton III. First born of House Compton. Third of my name. Father of Bulldogs (Waffle). Protector of a Bus. Fan of Game Of Thrones

I have a podcast called "Bussin' With The Boys" that I co-host with my boy, Taylor Lewan. We got started on this back in April of 2019.

The thought that went behind it was that there weren't any podcasts by active NFL players - maybe a few in other sports - that put conversations that actually happen on a microphone. A podcast by the boys, for the boys (and girls; s/o the girls too), that is edgy, but also has the access that we have and the level of credibility to where our guests feel comfortable enough to talk about "cutting their dick off for a Super Bowl," (Coach Vrabel) and jokingly saying "that's white people shit," (Jalen Ramsey) and openly talking about the "behind the scenes" of our sport. We go into the details behind our guests' successes and failures that they're known for and hopefully make it relatable to our listeners to add value. We dive into all of it.

I like to think of our podcast as if Joe Rogan, Chris D'elia, The Fighter and The Kid, Pat McAfee, and Pardon My Take had a baby. A special multi-parented baby that grows up to finally hit a fourth grade reading level at age 17 that also wets the bed until freshman year (that last part is actually true about me).

I also play in the NFL. Going into my eighth year. Undrafted. No combine. Gritty. Scrappy. All brains and hustle. Coming out of the BLACKSHIRT brotherhood at the UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA. S/o the Big Red.

Had a fun 5 years with the Redskins (s/o the boys I played with on the Skins). Spent my first year on practice squad (2013 NFL Practice Squad All-American). Then grinded my way out of those slums to a brighter four years with the boys on the Skins and also meeting my smoke show fiancé, Charo Bishop. It's funny because my Barstool debut actually came from when I was on the Skins.

Ultimately, the Skins only offered me a one-year minimum and a bag of chips to stay. So I had to take my insanely above average talents to the great state of Tennessee for a little more cash thanks to a great free agency date with Coach Vrabel (s/o Coach Vrabel).

They ended up drafting a Nick Saban Alabama thoroughbred in Rashaan Evans (s/o Rashaan Evans) during the first round so you pretty much knew what time it was. I was the greatest backup in Titans history that year, and no one got hurt so the boy never got to really spin. I think what hurt the most when Rashaan got drafted was that I was at a local bar with a couple of my best friends (s/o Nick and Logan) and they immediately put their hand on my back asking, "you alright buddy?" I WAS FINE. I probably had the most fun in that locker room, though. That's where "The Boys" started, the camaraderie was second to none, the city of Nashville is fucking awesome, and it became the place that I now call "home."

2019 was the best year yet. Started that podcast, built that brand with one of my best friends, threw those tailgates before Titans games while waiting to sign with a team, yelled For The Boys obnoxiously, got picked up by the Oakland Raiders mid-season, showed mfers that the boy still has JUICE, proposed to that girl, got picked up by the most popular brand on the internet BARSTOOL SPORTS, had podcasts with people that I never thought I'd meet, and everything else that my CTE can't think of.

I am now a free agent again, so we will see what happens here soon. In the meantime, I can write about this whole process for you, tell some old war stories, the podcast, being quarantined, whatever. You pick.

I could honestly write all day about shit now that I've got nothing but time on my hands and I'm nostalgic af thinking about everything. If any of you out there are reading this and want me to go in detail about any of this let me know. I'm doing my best to keep it short. I have nothing but time on my hands now that I'm quarantined and on the internet with you all. I will now be an in-home workout legend, Barstool blogger, video gamer, and of course brainstorming for Bussin' With The Boys. Take that little piece of kindness in your heart and subscribe and rate 5-stars for the boys.

Stay salty out there. Love you.
