Major League Baseball Will Be Delaying The Start of the Regular Season By At Least Two Weeks
Well on top of all the fucked up shit that has been announced today, Major League Baseball has suspended all operations indefinitely. Spring training is cancelled even though there are still games going on right now for some insane reason. The regular season will be delayed until at least two weeks, and probably longer. It's not a shock at all after what we've seen over the last 24 hours, but it still is gut punch to accept. Today absolutely blows.
What in the world are we supposed to watch when we're all home quarantined in a week? Sure Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime they all exist, but I need my sports. I need baseball. I need March Madness. This is miserable.
I said this last night, but I feel like we don't see baseball until the summer. I started tearing up typing that sentence. I'm thinking June. That's based on absolutely nothing but a gut feeling. Anyone who thinks we're starting back up in April just doesn't understand what's going on right now in the world. They're not going to return until this is under control and they're able to test however many people that need it. We're all in this together in this fucked up bizarro world.
P.S. On a slightly positive note Aaron Judge, Giancarlo, and Paxton are going to probably be good to go for Opening Day, whenever the hell that may be. Woohoo! On a negative note the Astros are going to get off so easy. No one is thinking about them anymore because there's obviously a way bigger issue at hand. Goddamit this sucks.
P.P.S. I'm going to play so much MLB the Show my eyes are going to bleed and I'm going to get arthritis.
