There Is A Strong Russian Connection In DC And It's Gloriousssss

First of all that title was the end product of a 15 minute brainstorm sesh and I'm pretty sure the Russian Connection is the perfect name for that line and we should make shirts. If there is a better name that I can't think of let me know and we'll use that to make shirts instead. But I think Russian Connection is the winner.

Secondly, we know I love the Ilya Kovalchuk trade more than anyone in the world.

But now that he's playing on a line occasionally with Ovi and Kuzy I somehow love it even more. I didn't think that would be possible but god damn the Russian line makes me smile from sea to shining sea. That was some Russian witchcraft that cannot be stopped. And my favorite thing about it is you can tell Kuzy has stepped up his game since the trade. He wants to impress Kovalchuk so badly and it's showing and it's awesome.

Honestly, the additions of Brenden Dillon and Ilya Kovalchuk at the deadline were hugely important and already paying off. Dillon is such a beast on the blue line and Kovalchuk is fitting in like a puzzle piece. Another big win tonight and now we enter a tough part of the schedule- after a few days off it goes Flyers, Rangers, Penguins, 3 games in 4 days. The GD Flyers won't stop winning so that will be a big one, the Rangers kinda stink so that should be a fun one, and the Pens are the Pens, that should look like a playoff game.
